Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Today, on the first day of National Small Business Week, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement on the success of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Restaurant Revitalization Fund in supporting Northern Ohio businesses harmed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The American Rescue Plan – passed by Congressional Democrats without any Republican support – established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund to provide direct funding to businesses to assist with expenses related to payroll, utilities, rent, and more. To date, 125 businesses in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District have received $34,819,506.82 in pandemic-response grants.

“In the midst of the worst pandemic in over a century, our beloved local restaurants, and thousands of cooks, servers, and drivers, were dealt an almost insurmountable blow. Thanks to President Biden and the American Rescue Plan, we are delivering the resources needed to help these businesses recover, and ensure our workers receive the paychecks they have earned.”
