Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development and senior member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture announced a $156,893 United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Grant through the Rural Energy For America Program (Reap) for HD Grain Farms of Whitehouse, Ohio. This Rural Development investment will be used to purchase and install energy efficient grain dryer at HD Grain Farms in Whitehouse, Ohio.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $10.5 Million loan through the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Powering Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) program for the Village of Pioneer in Williams County. This transformative low-interest loan will support the development of a 4.9-megawatt solar field and a new electrical substation, positioning Pioneer as a regional leader in clean energy innovation. The total project cost is $20 Million.

Toledo, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement following the announcement by Mobis North America that they will invest $13.8 Million in a new Battery Assembly Facility and bring 185 new jobs to North Toledo. The company will move into a newly remodeled 285,000-square-foot industrial building at 5901 Skyview Drive. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority has approved a Job Creation Tax Credit for the company. Construction is already underway on the new plant, with production planned to start in August 2024.

Washington, DC — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy & Water, senior member of the House Appropriations Subcommittees on Defense and Agriculture, and longest serving woman in the history of Congress released the following statement on the chaos in the Republican Conference amidst their inability to hold a vote to elect a new Speaker of the House:

Dependence on importing foreign oil cost America over $321 billion last year. Petroleum and energy alone added $140 billion to our trade deficit. That lost income translates into thousands of lost jobs. By developing domestic energy sources rather than defending exploitation and extraction abroad, we could create jobs at home instead of sending our dollars overseas.


After receiving hundreds of inquiries and requests, Rep. Kaptur has submitted funding requests for important community projects in Ohio's Ninth District to the House Appropriations Committee.

Community Project Funding (CPF) is an initiative for Fiscal Year 2025 that will allow Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. CPF is separate from federal grants and funding apportioned by formula. CPF’s are also not normal appropriations requests, which deal with funding levels for individual federal programs.


After receiving many inquiries and requests, Rep. Kaptur has submitted funding requests for important community projects across Ohio's Ninth District to the House Appropriations Committee. Many of these previously approved requests were resubmitted after the Majority passed FY2024 continued level year funding without inclusion of Community Projects for FY2025.
