Washington, DC – On Thursday, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) voted to pass H.R.7148, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, the final funding legislation funding for FY2026 which will now head to the Senate for final approval. The legislation passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 341-88, and now moves to the Senate for final consideration.

Washington, DC Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Congressman John James (MI-10) reintroduced the bipartisan IMPROVE (Incentivize Motivated Parents with Responsible Options for Vital Education) Safety for Schools Act, to address the issues related to gun violence and school safety. The IMPROVE Safety for Schools Act would create a tax credit of $300 to incentivize parents/guardians to purchase a gun safe or storage item.
