Washington, DC — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Congressman John James (MI-10) reintroduced the bipartisan IMPROVE (Incentivize Motivated Parents with Responsible Options for Vital Education) Safety for Schools Act, to address the issues related to gun violence and school safety. The IMPROVE Safety for Schools Act would create a tax credit of $300 to incentivize parents/guardians to purchase a gun safe or storage item.

Toledo, OH – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced the delivery of $4.9 Million in federal funding through the FY24 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and Staffing For Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) programs to fire departments across Northwest Ohio, marking a higher level of funding than the previous year and providing critical resources that directly enhance firefighter and public safety.
