Toledo, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water and Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Great Lakes Task Force, released the following statement on the status of the work by the US Army Corps of Engineers to construct the invasive carp barrier at the Brandon Road Lock and Dam in Joliet, Illinois.
"I’m pleased work at Brandon Road can start again. This is great news for the Great Lakes, and I thank the Governors who joined me to press the President this week to get it done.

Toledo, OH – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), and US Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) wrote Secretary of State Marco Rubio urging him to move quickly in awarding $25 Million the State Department has made available to “support the identification, return, rehabilitation, and reintegration of Ukrainian children forcibly transferred to Russia and Russian-occupied territories.”

Toledo, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Co-Chair of the bipartisan House Great Lakes Task Force and Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water, announced that the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has been awarded $32,343,000 through the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) to complete remediation of the Lower Maumee River Sway Bridge Project. Congresswoman Kaptur has championed the GLRI since before its creation, and has worked with Presidents of both parties to ensure its continued funding levels.
