Port Clinton, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that three Northwest Ohio airports will be receiving awards from the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT). A total of $7,189,092 will be awarded to the Erie-Ottawa International Airport, the Toledo Executive Airport, and the Fulton County Airport through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to improve passenger and crew safety and to update facilities. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, Congresswoman Kaptur prioritizes bringing essential funds back home where they are needed most.

Toledo, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that two Toledo airports will receive awards totaling $3,677,990 from the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) to improve passenger and crew safety and for facility updates and upgrades. The Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport (TOL), Toledo’s commercial passenger airport and home to the Ohio Air National Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing, will receive $2,836,854 through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Toledo, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, and a senior member of the House Defense Subcommittee on Appropriations joined local partners to announce that after receiving its first Pentagon contract, Ukrainian Defense Drones (UDD) has chosen Northwest Ohio for its first major US assembly and manufacturing center. UDD, the US company representing Ukraine’s F-Drones, is expected to make an $18.4 Million investment for the new production project in the Village of Holland, creating at least 300 new jobs.

Toledo, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that the University of Toledo will receive two separate grants from the Department of Health and Human Services to fund life-saving medical research. The first is $339,900 through the National Institute on Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to support research into the GSK3Beta enzyme, which accelerates the progression of diabetes and kidney diseases. The second award is for a total of $736,899 through the National Institute on Aging to research kinome networks in Alzheimer’s dementia.

Toledo, OH – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) is honored to recognize the artistic talents of all the participants of the 43rd Annual 9th Congressional District Art Competition. Today she announced that this year’s winner is Light Phillipps a student at the Toledo School for the Arts. Congresswoman Kaptur also announced that the first runner up was Millie Wilcox from Genoa Area Schools with a piece titled “Golden Hour,” and the second runner up was Acelin Schroder’s “Sweet Harvest” from Whitmer High School.

Toledo, OH — Today, as Northwest Ohio kicks off Watershed Weekend and the start of summer and the heart of boating season approaches, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development announced $17,613,000 in Federal funding has been allocated by the US Army Corps of Engineers for dredging and critical jetty repairs at five federally maintained harbors in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District.

Washington, DC — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that the University of Toledo’s Health Science Campus will be receiving a federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services’ National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. This $419,701 funding award will support further research into the GLT-1 protein, which shows promise of combatting alcohol addiction. Congresswoman Kaptur has long been supportive of initiatives that curb substance abuse and dependency which impacts millions of Americans, including many across Northwest Ohio.
