Home Energy Assistance Program

Ohio's hot summers and cold winters can make it difficult to keep up with fluctuating energy bills. If you are in need of assistance to keep you and your loved ones safe and comfortable at home, help is available.
The Ohio Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, assists Ohioans who are having difficulty paying their energy bills.
Individuals, families, and seniors with household incomes at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty line may receive a one-time financial benefit from HEAP that is applied directly to their utility or bulk fuel bills.
Residents who are interested in applying for HEAP can visit www.EnergyHelp.Ohio.gov or call 1-800-282-0880.
