Video of Appropriations Debate
Washington, DC– Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) today sought to find a bipartisan compromise to a pending ‘No Fly, No Buy’ amendment before the annual appropriations measure to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016. Her attempt at a compromise was rebuffed on a voice vote after a lively debate, and the amendment was defeated, 31-16.

How do you think Congress is doing this election year? It certainly appears many people don't think they are doing very well. A poll done by The Economist/YouGov reported this month that just 11 percent of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing. It appears the public believes that electioneering and partisanship are undermining lawmaking and governing.

"A pair of Ohio congressman won a federal investigation interceptor state pension fund Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur and Senator sure Brown both Democrats are calling a watchdog agency to conduct a probe into a pension fund which nearly 300000 former truckers rely on for their retirement benefits. That fund is going broke, threatening the retirement many Teamsters in northern Ohio and elsewhere."
