The Lorain County Land Bank will receive $3.3 million from the federal government to demolish homes in blighted areas in Elyria and Lorain.
The money comes from $2 billion being distributed through U.S. Department of Treasury’s Hardest Hit Fund. Ohio will receive nearly $97.6 million under the program, according to a news release from U.S. Rep.

A decision on whether Ontario Power Generation will be allowed to build a dump for low and intermediate-level nuclear waste a mile from the Lake Huron shoreline has been delayed at least two months.

Gary L. Everett was 19 when he was drafted into the Army to start a year-long tour of duty with the 1st Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam.
Nearly a half-century later, Mr. Everett received war medals to replace those he said were lost over the years.
Mr. Everett, 68, of Toledo said Wednesday was a happy day for him.
