Toledo, OH — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $1,000,000 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics Mental Health & Substance Abuse Service Grant award from the Center for Mental Health Services and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the improvement and advancement of the Zepf Center. With a rich history of helping those in need, Zepf is dedicated to treating patients with respect and providing hope. “This major funding award for the Zepf Center will help those working to address mental illness in our communities to better serve those in need,” said Congresswoman Kaptur. “At a time when the need for mental health services is on the rise in our region, and across the nation, it is important to see this kind of support coming back to our city and region from the Department of Health and Human Services. My work in Washington is always focused on ensuring that our community gets the proper support it needs, and I will always fight to help bolster vital services for our region.  Mental Health care facilities such as Zepf are often at the front line providing help and hope in the continuum of care for those with mental health challenges in our region.”

“The CCBHC grant is a national model of care with proven outcomes to reduce crime, incarceration and access to mental health, addiction and crisis care,” said Deb Flores, CEO of the Zepf Center. “Zepf Center is a proven behavioral health leader in NW Ohio and it’s our mission to serve anyone in need of care.”
