Federal Help for Kelleys Island Airport

September 11, 2012

Congresswoman Kaptur announced that the Kelleys Island airport has received a federal award of $302,849 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to acquire land to enhance safety.

FAA officials said the project will fund removal of obstructions in the runway approach at Land Field.

"The airport is obviously crucial to the transportation needs at Kelleys Island and we appreciate the federal assistance," said Congresswoman Kaptur.

"I look forward to working together with the local community on this important project."
