Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur has issued the following statement about the shooting incident in Tucson, Arizona over the weekend:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Congresswoman Giffords, her family, and her constituents in the Eighth Congressional District of Arizona. We pray for her recovery and the recovery of all those who suffer following this senseless attack.
"Our condolences go out to the families of those who were killed.
"Our nation must never give in to those who preach hatred and intolerance.
"We must condemn in the strongest terms anyone who advocates or resorts to violence. It simply has no place in our society."
