Kaptur Announces $1 Million Federal Award to Erie County to Support Justice-Involved Health Initiatives
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $1,000,000 award for Erie County, Ohio, from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through the Quality Improvement Fund — Justice Involved program. This discretionary funding will advance health services and programs that provide critical support to justice-involved individuals, ensuring equitable access to healthcare resources and opportunities for recovery and reintegration.

The award, part of the Quality Improvement Fund - Justice Involved program, will be administered by the Erie County Health Department over a two-year period, from December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2026. The funding will support innovative approaches to healthcare delivery for individuals navigating the justice system, focusing on addressing disparities, fostering rehabilitation, and promoting public safety.
