Kaptur Announces $160,000 Grant through USDA Rural Development Agency for the Carroll Township Law Enforcement Department
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development announced a $160,000 matching grant award to Carroll Township, Ottawa County from the USDA Rural Development Agency. This Rural Development investment will be used to construct a storage building for the Carroll Township Law Enforcement Department. The department has insufficient space needed by a modern law enforcement department. The new building will allow the Carroll Township Department to provide the 2,135 residents with enhanced service. The total cost of the project is $320,000.
“It is imperative that local law enforcement have the effective tools, facilities, and training they need to help protect our local and rural communities,” said Rep. Kaptur. “These matching funds will allow the Carroll Township Police Department to double its investment and to expand space at their facility. I was honored to help support this effort and am glad to see the Rural Development Agency make this competitive award.”
