Kaptur Announces $1,900,000 Grant through FAA 2023 Airport Terminal Program for the Put-In-Bay Airport
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, announced a $1,900,000 award to Put-In-Bay Airport to help modernize airport infrastructure. This FAA award funds a portion of a project to replace the existing 55+ year old terminal building at the Put-In-Bay Airport. The new, modern terminal facility will be an approximately 2,500 square feet, single-story building including a public area, baggage room, mechanical room, and two restrooms.
“This investment in the Put-In-Bay airport is transformative, and I’m proud to partner with our friends from the shores and islands to secure this significant federal investment. Residents of the islands will have access to badly needed modern infrastructure, and the security of a facility equipped for 21st century aviation needs,” said Rep. Kaptur. “Once again, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is paying off for working families in Northern Ohio, with federal dollars powering high-wage jobs and transport that will spur on economic activity at Put-In-Bay.”
