Kaptur Applauds Strategic Petroleum Reserve Release

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) – Chair of the House Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee – released the following statement applauding the release of 1 million barrels of oil a day from the United States’ Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

“In the midst of the global battle to preserve Liberty, America led the world in ending imports of the Russian oil that fueled Vladimir Putin’s murderous rampage,” said Rep. Kaptur. “Now, we must use every tool to lower costs and protect the pocketbooks of families and seniors. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve was designed for moments like this, and I applaud the Administration for releasing 1 million barrels a day immediately into the market. While large oil company CEOs seek to reap record profits on the backs of everyone else, I will continue fighting to lower costs and supporting the energy innovation we need for America’s future.”
