Kaptur: Ohio Seniors Will Pay Less for Medicare Part B Next Year

September 29, 2022

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement regarding the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ announcement that seniors will pay less for Medicare Part B in 2023.

This week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that premiums and deductibles for Medicare Part B would decrease next year by more than 3 percent – the first time in more than a decade that Medicare Part B costs have decreased year-over-year.

“Through our efforts to protect and strengthen Medicare, millions of seniors will pay less for Medicare Part B next year – keeping more money in their pockets,” said Rep. Kaptur. “While some want to sunset Medicare and Social Security every five years, I’m focused on lowering prescription drug and insulin costs for seniors. I will never allow these sacred earned benefits to be put on the chopping block.”
