Kaptur Statement on the 80th Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement on the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
“Today – on the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor – we honor the memories of the more than 2,400 American heroes who lost their lives on that harrowing day, and recognize the enormous courage of those who ran headfirst into the fire and chaos to defend our homeland.
“In the years that followed, 16 million brave Americans were called into service to protect our nation, and liberate the globe from the onslaught of tyranny.
“We all have a responsibility to cherish the enduring gifts of freedom, liberty, and peace bestowed on us by America's Greatest Generation. Their sacrifice must never – and will never – be forgotten.”
