Accounting for inflation, most U.S. workers haven't had a meaningful pay raise in decades. Millions lost jobs during the most recent recession, and many who were lucky enough to find replacement jobs are being paid much less than before. U.S. overtime rules have not kept pace, foricing more Americans to work longer hours for the same pay.
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Ohio’s Democratic Congressional Delegation urged Speaker John Boehner today to act on many of the outstanding issues that Congress still needs to pass, highlighting his unique opportunity to do so despite those in the Republican Caucus who choose to engage in obstructionism instead of governance. Competition Opens for All High School Students in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District
LORAIN,OH (Sept. 22, 2015) – U.S Environmental Protection Agency Regional Administrator/Great Lakes National Program Manager Susan Hedman today announced a $15 million Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grant – the largest single GLRI grant awarded to date by EPA – to the city of Lorain for restoration work in the Black River Area of Concern on Lake Erie. The Black River AOC is on the binational list of toxic hotspots that have been targeted for cleanup under the U.S.-Canada Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur and Mayor Chase Ritenauer joined Hedman at Black River Landing to highlight the projects that will be funded by this GLRI grant.

Grants Announced for Health Organizations in Cleveland, Lorain, Toledo
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) heralded news today that more than $1.8 million has been awarded to health care center programs in Cleveland, Lorain and Toledo, Ohio, by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to improve primary and preventive health care services to medically underserved populations in these cities.
