Ms. KAPTUR. Mr. Speaker, Congress is being pushed to pass aBush administration plan to write a blank check to white collarcriminals of the highest order. Instead of prosecuting those who stolefrom us, Secretary Paulson wants us to reward his former colleagues fortheir bad decisions, abusive and unlawful practices.
Mr. Speaker, whatmust our children think when they hear news reports about the upcomingPresidential race of 2008, and when they hear over and over and overagain how much money all the candidates are raising, $27 million, $20million, $18 million, and the ante is being raised every week.
I have a constituent in Sandusky, Ohio, who refinanced hishome due to a divorce to an adjustable rate mortgage through an Ohiobank. But then, J.P.
