Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Kelleys Island Mayor Ron Ehrbar announced today that the Village of Kelleys Island Land Field Airport will be awarded $101,079.00. The funding was provided through the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program Grants. The airport will use the funding to install 2,000 feet of drainage improvements to eliminate ponding on airfield surfaces.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) today gave the following floor speech during general debate on H.R. 4378, a seven-week continuing resolution. This bill extends federal government funding through November 21, keeping the government open and avoiding another harmful government shutdown. The legislation passed the House on a vote of 301-123 and now moves to the Senate.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District today announced a $2.1 million contract for repairs to the Lorain breakwater, located in Lake Erie in the Port of Lorain, Lorain County, Ohio.

The contract was awarded on September 9, 2019 to Great Lakes Dock and Materials, LLC, from Muskegon, Michigan. Construction will start and be completed during 2020.

WASHINGTON – Today, Representatives Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and David Joyce (OH-14) applauded the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's passage of their bill, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) Act of 2019. This bipartisan, bicameral legislation would reauthorize the GLRI for another five years and increase authorized funding for the program from $300 million annually to $475 million annually by fiscal year 2026.
