Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Dean of the Ohio Delegation and the most senior woman serving in Congress, today released the following statement regarding the draft Senate health care bill:

"Health care is about life and death. Now that we have a draft bill from the Senate, ‎we know that Medicaid coverage will be heavily cut back. These are lifeline cuts to vital care and services for our children, seniors, those suffering from opioid addiction as well as the disabled and mentally ill.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Mark Pocan (WI-02) and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) introduced legislation that would hold drug manufacturers accountable for spiking the price of prescription drugs; the Stop Price Gouging Act, H.R. 2974, uniquely protects consumers and penalizes drug corporations that spike drug prices deliberately without justification. Earlier this month Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) introduced a Senate version of the bill.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) led a bipartisan group of Members in introducing a bill, the Stop Asian Carp Now Act, which will compel to the Trump Administration to release the Brandon Road Study within seven days of the bill's enactment. The Brandon Road Lock and Dam study will provide important guidance on how best to prevent Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes and is an important hurdle before further action can be taken.

Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur and 200 Members of Congress filed a federal lawsuit against President Trump for violating one of the Constitution's critical anti-corruption provisions: the Foreign Emoluments Clause. The emoluments clause prohibits the President from accepting foreign payments without seeking and receiving Congressional authorization.
