Washington, DC – Today, the House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation which would designate United States Route 20 in the States of Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts as the "National Medal of Honor Highway.” The legislation was led by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Congressman Mike Kelly (PA-16) in the House and Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Mike Crapo (R-ID) in the Senate.

Toledo, OH – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced two major environmental awards for a total of $2.453 Million from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) aimed at advancing coastal resilience and restoring critical wetlands in the Great Lakes region. These NFWF awards will support critical projects in Toledo and Sandusky Bay, both essential to safeguarding the region’s natural habitats and boosting climate resilience for local communities.

This follows a similar incident of antisemitism carried out by a Neo-Nazi group in Sylvania and Toledo in July of 2023.

Video of Appropriations Debate

Washington, DC– Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) today sought to find a bipartisan compromise to a pending ‘No Fly, No Buy’ amendment before the annual appropriations measure to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016. Her attempt at a compromise was rebuffed on a voice vote after a lively debate, and the amendment was defeated, 31-16.

A poll done by The Economist/YouGov reported this month that just 11 percent of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing. It appears the public believes that electioneering and partisanship are undermining lawmaking and governing.
