Toledo, Ohio — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), led 63 of her colleagues in a letter alongside Congresswoman Kathy Manning (NC-06), Congressman Jared Moskowitz (FL-23), Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01), and Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury (NM-01), urging House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) to bring the US House of Representatives back into session to approve necessary funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) to fulfill their Hurricane Helene and Milton relief missions.

Toledo, Ohio – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-OH-09), joined Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA-11), the Ranking Member of the House Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation, in leading a bipartisan group of lawmakers in writing to the Postal Board of Governors to bring to their attention severe deficiencies in United States Postal Service (USPS) operations that risk the security of the mail and mail facilities and threaten the safety of postal employees and members of the public.

Video of Appropriations Debate

Washington, DC– Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) today sought to find a bipartisan compromise to a pending ‘No Fly, No Buy’ amendment before the annual appropriations measure to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016. Her attempt at a compromise was rebuffed on a voice vote after a lively debate, and the amendment was defeated, 31-16.

A poll done by The Economist/YouGov reported this month that just 11 percent of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing. It appears the public believes that electioneering and partisanship are undermining lawmaking and governing.
