Toledo, Ohio – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced the US Department of Transportation will award $24.5 Million to Lucas, Ottawa, Wood and Sandusky counties as part of its Safe Streets and Roads for All Program (SS4A). The funding award follows a previous $400,000 award in SS4A funding received by Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, and Sandusky Counties in the first round of SS4A funding in February 2023.

Her visit underscores the critical role that Northern border states play in national security, particularly in light of recent data showing a majority of terrorist-related crossings have occurred at the Northern border.

Toledo, Ohio – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, announced that Ohio has been awarded $4,301,375 in federal funding through the US Department of Energy’s Sustainable Energy Resources for Consumers (SERC) program. This funding, made possible by Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will support two innovative projects aimed at increasing clean energy access and improving energy efficiency for low-income households in Ohio’s Appalachian region and the City of Toledo.

A set of 18 bills that should give local medical and law enforcement workers new tools in combating an opioid and heroin addiction epidemic was approved Friday and earlier this week by the U.S. House of Representatives.
The bills are expected to be merged with the Comprehensive Addiction & Recovery Act already passed in the Senate in March by a 94-1 vote.

Delbert L. Latta, a Republican congressman for 30 years known for running his office on a shoestring and keeping close contact with constituents by returning to his northwest Ohio district most weekends, died Thursday in Wood Haven Nursing Home, Bowling Green, after an extended illness. He was 96.
He had a stroke two weeks ago, according to his son, U.S. Rep. Bob Latta (R., Ohio).

The late U.S. Rep. Delbert L. Latta (R., Bowling Green) was remembered Thursday for a 30-year stint in Congress, where he set the standard for constituent service.
Two of Ohio’s top elected officials who served in Congress during Mr. Latta’s final three terms, Gov. John Kasich and Attorney General Mike DeWine, both Republicans, issued statements.
Mr.
