Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that the US Environmental Protection Agency has begun removing hazardous substances from the former Omni Polymers facility in Central Toledo. The long-awaited cleanup will address thousands of containers left behind after the facility was abandoned, many containing toxic materials that posed risks to residents and the surrounding environment.
“The start of this long-overdue cleanup at the Omni Polymers site represents a critical victory for the health and safety of Toledo residents.
