Cleveland, OH – Today, U.S. Representatives Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and Marcia Fudge (D-OH) released the following statement announcing $15 million in federal funds being awarded to the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA). The project replaces 40 heavy rail vehicles with 34 heavy rail vehicles and makes associated infrastructure upgrades to the rail maintenance facility, equipment, and stations to accommodate the new vehicles. The funding will be administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Better Utilizing Investment to Leverage Development (BUILD) competitive grant program.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, announced $7,975,180 in federal investments for communities across Northern Ohio, including Cleveland, Toledo, Lakewood, Lorain, Parma, Sandusky, and Cuyahoga County. The funding is comprised of Community Development Blocks Grants (CDBG) provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. As a senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Kaptur has led the effort to increase funding for CDBG as a whole and supported expanding funding for communities struggling to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nothing in Ohio law prohibits LaRose from prepaying return postage for both ballots and mail-in ballot applications, and the Ohio lawmakers demanded he use that existing authority to eliminate voting barriers and ensure a free and fair election in November.

County committees have enabled farmer input on the delivery of FSA programs since the 1930s, and these new committees are part of USDA's efforts to better support urban agriculture.
