Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, announced today that the Lorain County Community Development Department will receive $200,000 in federal funding through the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training program. This funding will provide funding for the recruitment, training, and placement of unemployed and underemployed residents of Lorain County in environmental careers. The Lorain County Board of Commissioners plans to train 66 students and place at least 36 graduates in environmental jobs.
