Washington, D.C. — Today, Representatives Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Peter King (R-NY) introduced the National World War II Memorial Commemorative Coin Act, a bill to authorize the U.S. Treasury to mint coins in commemoration of the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Proceeds from the sale of the commemorative coins will be used to maintain and repair the Memorial, as well as for commemorative and educational programming. Rep. Kaptur was the author of the legislation in Congress to establish the National World War II Memorial on the National Mall.
Rep. Kaptur (D-OH) serves as Co-Chair of the Congressional Hungarian Caucus and a senior member of the Appropriations Committee.

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Erie County Health Department Health Commissioner Peter Schade announced today that the Erie County Health Department will be awarded $3,828,430.00. The funding will be awarded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes grant programs. The Erie County Health Department will use the funds to identify and remove lead-based paint hazards in 170 Erie and Lorain Counties homes constructed before 1978.

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Kelleys Island Mayor Ron Ehrbar announced today that the Village of Kelleys Island Land Field Airport will be awarded $101,079.00. The funding was provided through the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program Grants. The airport will use the funding to install 2,000 feet of drainage improvements to eliminate ponding on airfield surfaces.
