Washington, DC – Today, Co-Chairs of the Bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus Representatives Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Mike Quigley (D-IL), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), and Andy Harris (R-MD), introduced a bipartisan House resolution condemning the Council of Europe's decision to restore Russia's voting rights on the Council, a decision opposed by most member states formerly in the Soviet-Bloc.

Washington, DC — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling giving a greenlight for further partisan gerrymandering following the 2020 Census:

"Today's ruling by the Supreme Court's conservative justices undermines democratic participation for millions of Americans in Ohio and across the entire United States," said Rep. Kaptur. "They had a rare opportunity to strengthen, if not save, fair representation in our democracy and they categorically failed."

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) has introduced the Transform Student Debt to Home Equity Act of 2019, legislation that directs the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to establish a pilot program to connect creditworthy federal student debt holders with housing properties for sale but held by the federal government and landbanks.

WASHINGTON — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-5) released the following statement after their bipartisan amendment adding $500,000 for the International Fisheries Commissions to combat Grass Carp in the Great Lakes passed the House of Representatives in the State and Foreign Operations Appropriations bill. The bill, now containing $1,000,000 for Grass Carp control in the Great Lakes, goes to the U.S. Senate where it is expected to be adopted.

WASHINGTON — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, released the following statement after the FY2020 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies funding bill passed the House of Representatives on a bipartisan basis. The legislation funds the Department of Energy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of the Interior programs, and other related agencies and now heads to the Senate for consideration.

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement after legislation she championed to invest $20 million to redevelop the Hypersonic Tunnel Facility (HTF) at NASA Glenn Research Center's Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio passed the House floor in the FY2020 Defense Appropriations Bill. The legislation is expected to pass the Senate in the near future.

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement announcing the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded two grants to the State of Ohio totaling $5,134,000 for renovations at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio. The first award includes $1,473,647 in federal assistance to renovate windows at the Ohio Veterans Home, which will help with the weatherization of the facility.
