Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) released the following statement applauding Intel’s $20 billion investment in new Ohio semiconductor factories, and calling for Congressional passage of the CHIPS for America Act. Earlier this week – as Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Auto Caucus – Rep. Kaptur hosted a roundtable meeting with U.S. auto industry and labor leaders focused on the need to pass the CHIPS for America Act’s $52 billion investment in domestic semiconductor production.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, released the following statement applauding the Biden Administration’s awarding of $742 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for two of America’s most critical water infrastructure priorities: the Soo Locks and Brandon Road Lock and Dam projects. Rep. Kaptur and House Democrats strongly supported the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, while 94 percent of House Republicans opposed it.
