Toledo, Ohio – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), today welcomed news that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded nearly $1 million in federal grants to two scientists at The University of Toledo for research projects examining cell behaviors that can lead to the development of better medicines to treat cancer, cardiovascular disease and autoimmune disease.

Toledo, Ohio – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), today announced that the Sandusky Artisans Recovery Community Center will receive a $199,207 federal award to help bolster substance use recovery efforts. The grant is part of the Building Communities of Recovery program, administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) today announced a federal award of over $200,000 to the Bay Village and Sheffield Lake Fire Departments under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. The operations and safety award funds much needed personal protective equipment, training, and supplies that support firefighting and non-affiliated EMS operations and safety. The Bay Village Fire Department will receive $137,048 and the Sheffield Lake Fire Department, $64,762.
