Washington, DC  –  Tuesday, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and her colleagues on the bipartisan Great Lakes Task Force introduced the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) Act of 2024. This bipartisan legislation will reauthorize the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, which is set to expire at the end of FY 2026, for another five years through FY 2031. The bill increases the current authorization level from $475 Million to $500 Million in FY 2026. With Kaptur, Representatives David Joyce (OH-14), Debbie Dingell (MI-06), and Bill Huizenga (MI-04) are the House co-leads of this GLRI Reauthorization legislation.

Washington, DC – Tuesday, January 30, Congressional Ukraine Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Mike Quigley (IL-05), and Andy Harris (MD-01) were joined by Ukraine Caucus Members Steny Hoyer (MD-05), John Garamendi (CA-08), Jim Costa (CA-20), Seth Magaziner (RI-02), and Madeleine Dean (PA-04) for a press conference at the United States Capitol to Kick off Ukrainian Week 2024.

Washington, DC  – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), announced that the The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) has been selected by the US Department of Energy to receive a $3 Million award to fund research of advanced electric melting in glass manufacturing. The research is intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help move the nation toward a net-zero economy. The GMIC project was one of 49 selected, totaling $171 Million in federal funding.

Toledo, OH  – Tuesday, January 23, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz hosted a press conference and groundbreaking with local and regional leaders from the Toledo-Lucas Port Authority, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Great Lakes National Program Office, and the city of Toledo to break ground on construction to help restore and protect the Clark Island and Delaware/Horseshoe Islands, which are City of Toledo-owned islands in the Maumee River.

A half mile from their union hall, more 220 retired members of Teamsters Local 346 (link is external) gathered at Holy Family Catholic Church in Duluth’s West End last Thursday to fight for their pensions. Congressman Rick Nolan joined them to say he was in their fight with them.
This isn’t just a Teamster’s fight, however.

U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Toledo, on Friday visited the American Legion Post 83 to present post commander Terry Kaufman, color guard commander Dan Break and other members with new color guard rifles, provided by the U.S. Army.
Post leaders worked for months to secure these replacement rifles, which are used in various ceremonies around Erie County.

Glenn's researchers have done acclaimed work on propulsion, communications, safety and many other technologies crucial to flight. They've also reduced engine noise.
