Washington, DC – Today Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Congressman John James (MI-10) introduced a bipartisan bill, The IMPROVE (Incentivize Motivated Parents with Responsible Options for Vital Education) Safety for Schools Act, which creates a nonrefundable tax credit of $300 to incentivize parents/guardians to purchase firearm safety devices including a gun safe, storage item, or gun lock to improve gun safety at home. The legislation will help ensure children do not have unsupervised access to firearms or the ability to take them without knowledge of an adult.
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, House Republicans voted to raise costs for American families by passing their extreme 2024 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies funding bill. This bill includes harmful provisions that increase energy costs by cutting clean energy programs, fail to diversify energy production and storage, yield leadership of the global energy future to China, ignore the scientific consensus on climate change, and increase our dependence on foreign energy. House Democrats were united in their opposition, voting unanimously against the bill.

Toledo, OH – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through its Child Lead Poisoning Prevention program, has awarded The Junction Coalition a $600,000 grant, spanning over a three-year period, to help reduce lead poisoning in the Toledo community.
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy & Water, and Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-02) Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee announced a $2,036,112 United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Grant through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP) for EnviroKure of Hicksville, Ohio in Defiance County, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Philadelphia County. This Rural Development investment will be used to assist farmers, ranchers, and rural small business in developing alternative fertilizers to help expand the food production of the nation's farmers.
