Washington, DC – During today’s House Appropriations Subcommittee markup of the 2024 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies funding bill, House Republicans passed a bill that reneges on the debt limit agreement that was just signed into law, raises costs for families, and weakens energy security and our ability to out-compete China.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $21,341,792 Million ReConnect loan award to benefit Ottawa and Sandusky Counties through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This ReConnect loan is part of $714 Million in loans announced today administered by USDA across 19 states as part of their ReConnect Program. Connecting all communities across the United States to high-speed internet is central part of the President Investing in America agenda to rebuild our economy from the bottom up and middle out by rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $110,014.28 grant award to the City of Wauseon Fire Department through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. This program is administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration. The Wauseon Fire Department plans to use these funds to update existing exhaust system infrastructure to get up to modern standards and allow for safer operations in the fire house, and additionally to purchase a protective gear cleaning extractor to remove carbons and hydrocarbons.
