Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, joined representatives and researchers from the University of Toledo and Eaton Corporation at a press conference announcing $8,700,000 in Department of Energy (DOE) funding that will support the two organizations in their research and development of solar technology. The University of Toledo awards follow on the recent and major award the University received from the U.S. Air Force in April.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced Ohio will receive an additional $172,384,124 in federal funding for home weatherization and energy efficiency upgrades from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Last year, Rep. Kaptur joined nearly every House Democrat to pass the Jobs and Infrastructure bill, while 94 percent of House Republicans opposed it.

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, announced $53,288,348 in federal investments for communities across Northern Ohio. The funding was provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Specifically, the funding comprises $38,391,672 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), $10,282,141 in HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), $3,034,624 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and $1,579,911 in Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) funding.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that the US Environmental Protection Agency has begun removing hazardous substances from the former Omni Polymers facility in Central Toledo. The long-awaited cleanup will address thousands of containers left behind after the facility was abandoned, many containing toxic materials that posed risks to residents and the surrounding environment.
