Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) a senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee voted to pass the American Relief Act, 2025, to avert a shutdown of the federal government and extend assistance to Ohio farmers, producers, and growers after a season with severe drought conditions and crop loss. The bill passed the House by a vote of 366 to 34, and will now move to the Senate for passage, before heading to the President’s desk to be signed into law.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $10.5 Million loan through the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Powering Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) program for the Village of Pioneer in Williams County. This transformative low-interest loan will support the development of a 4.9-megawatt solar field and a new electrical substation, positioning Pioneer as a regional leader in clean energy innovation. The total project cost is $20 Million.

Washington, DC – Today, Vice Chairs of the Congressional Labor Caucus Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) together with the Co-Chairs of the Labor Caucus Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01), Congressman Mark Pocan (WI-02), Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12), and Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) led a letter to President Biden calling for him to block the sale of American owned US Steel to a foreign buyer, Japanese owned Nippon Steel.

Toledo, Ohio – On Friday, December 16 Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), hosted a reception at the National Museum of the Great Lakes to honor winners and other outstanding submission for the 9th District Congressional App Challenge.  Twenty applications from five schools in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District competed this year including students from: Bryan Middle School, Sandusky High School, The Bounty Collegium, Sylvania Northview High School and Sylvania Southview High School. Erie, Lucas and Williams Counties were each represented.

Toledo, OH – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced significant federal awards to the University of Toledo Health Science Campus, highlighting the university’s pivotal role in advancing cancer research and improving public health outcomes. The awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), total over $680,000 and will support innovative studies that promise to enhance understanding and treatment of cancer and other health challenges.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), a senior member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act of 2025. The legislation passed by a vote of 281 to 140, and now moves to the United States Senate for consideration.

Washington, DC – Today, the House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation which would designate United States Route 20 in the States of Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts as the "National Medal of Honor Highway.” The legislation was led by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), and Congressman Mike Kelly (PA-16) in the House and Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Mike Crapo (R-ID) in the Senate.

Toledo, OH – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced two major environmental awards for a total of $2.453 Million from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) aimed at advancing coastal resilience and restoring critical wetlands in the Great Lakes region. These NFWF awards will support critical projects in Toledo and Sandusky Bay, both essential to safeguarding the region’s natural habitats and boosting climate resilience for local communities.
