Visclosky (D-IN), House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith (D-WA), and House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces Chairman Jim Cooper (D-TN) sent a letter today to Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette seeking answers on the Trump Administration's recent proposal to resume nuclear testing.

The Trump Administration conveyed its decision in a letter from the Department of Treasury to Representatives Kaptur, Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), David Joyce (R-OH) and Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) joined 78 of her House colleagues in urging House Leadership to include a "Restoration and Resilience Jobs" program in future economic recovery packages. In April 2019, Rep. Kaptur introduced the 21st Century Civilian Conservation Corps Act of 2019, legislation to reestablish and build upon the historic achievements of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Such legislation would be included in future coronavirus relief packages.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Representative Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, spoke on the House floor in support of H.R. 6800, the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act (HEROES Act), ahead of a vote on the bill scheduled for Friday evening. This emergency legislation, which honors those on the frontlines, including healthcare professionals, first responders, transit workers, and other essential workers, will play a monumental role in overcoming the dual public health and economic challenges we face as a result of COVID-19.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) announced $7,968,944 in federal funding has been awarded to the Cleveland Division of Police by the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) through its COPS Hiring Program (CHP) and Operation Relentless Pursuit. The funding will enable the Cleveland Division of Police to deploy sworn veteran officers to important task force duties and use the CHP funding to hire new recruits to back-fill those positions.
