Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will allocate a total of $9,420,227 in Public Housing Repair funding to the public housing authorities in Erie, Lucas, and Sandusky Counties. This significant investment will support essential capital improvements to ensure safe, modern, and energy-efficient public housing across Northwest Ohio.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, and Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10), Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, along with Senators Jim Risch (R-ID), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Sheldon Whitehouse, Chair of the Senate Budget Committee (D-RI) sent President Biden a letter urging the administration to implement the REPO Act ahead of the G7 finance ministers’ meeting this week.

Congresswoman Kaptur has tirelessly pushed for federal support to re-shore domestic solar manufacturing supply chains, including robust enforcement of trade policies to combat China’s economic warfare against domestic solar manufacturers.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) applauded a significant victory for consumer rights as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) announces the distribution of $384 Million to over 191,000 consumers nationwide wronged by the deceptive practices of Texas-based online lender, Think Finance. This compensation includes more than $61.9 Million designated for 26,136 Ohioans, sourced from the CFPB’s victims relief fund — a potent tool in rectifying the financial damages inflicted by unlawful corporate behaviors.

If the Lake Erie Energy Development Corp., or LEEDCo, succeeds in building a small wind farm 7 to 10 miles offshore in the lake, it will need an on-shore substation to push its power into the local high-voltage grid.
That location is the old Cleveland Municipal power plant on Lake Road, which today still serves as a substation for Cleveland Public Power, connecting the city system to the regional high-voltage grid.

To the dismay of area birders, the Ohio National Guard is restarting its controversial plan for erecting a taxpayer-funded, commercial-scale wind turbine at Camp Perry at a cost of $1.5 million.
Kimberly Kaufman, Black Swamp Bird Observatory executive director, told The Blade she learned about the decision during a recent meeting with Camp Perry leadership.

As they picketed in downtown Detroit Friday over cuts to their pensions, some retired Teamsters were quick to point out that they were not the worst off. “I've still got my health and a part-time job that keeps me busy,” said Jim Carothers.
Carothers is facing a 60 percent cut to the pension he earned over 34 years as a carhauler, driving finished autos from the assembly line to dealerships.
