Toledo, OH – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, senior Member of the Congressional Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus, applauded the announcement from the Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that the Direct File program will be permanently available to taxpayers and expanded to include all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This decision follows the success of the Direct File pilot program, which demonstrated the government’s ability to deliver a free, public e-filing service that saves taxpayers time, money, and hassle.

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-9), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development and Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs are leading the push for the US International Trade Commission (ITC) and the US Department of Commerce to level the playing field for American solar workers by supporting a set of antidumping and countervailing duty petitions filed by the American Alliance for Solar Manufacturing Trade Committee—which includes First Solar in Perrysburg.

Washington, DC — On Tuesday June 4th, Representatives Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (FL-20), Shontel Brown (OH-11), and Timothy Kennedy (NY-26), held a press conference in recognition of National CPR and AED Awareness Week and the need to expand access to AEDs nationwide to save lives. National CPR and AED Awareness Week is recognized every year from June 1st through June 7th. The Members called on Speaker Mike Johnson to bring the HEARTS Act of 2024 to the floor for an immediate vote. This legislation passed unanimously out of the Energy and Commerce Committee 24-0 on March 20th, 2024 and includes the Access to AEDs Act.
