Toledo, OH – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through its Child Lead Poisoning Prevention program, has awarded The Junction Coalition a $600,000 grant, spanning over a three-year period, to help reduce lead poisoning in the Toledo community.
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy & Water, and Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-02) Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee announced a $2,036,112 United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Grant through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP) for EnviroKure of Hicksville, Ohio in Defiance County, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Philadelphia County. This Rural Development investment will be used to assist farmers, ranchers, and rural small business in developing alternative fertilizers to help expand the food production of the nation's farmers.
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $3.935 Million United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Grant through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP) for Growers Mineral of Milan, Ohio in Erie County. This Rural Development investment will be used to help offset the costs associated with constructing a new facility, purchase of new processing, and manufacturing equipment, and climate-smart equipment. The new facility is projected to increase fertilizer production by 279% by 2027 with enough product to support 832,000 acres of approximately 4,000 end user farmers.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $1.8 Million Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) award to the Erie County Health Department from the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This will bring $375,000 in funding back to Erie County each year for the next five years to help address behavioral health and mental health needs. This funding follows $2 Million which Rep. Kaptur directed to Erie County last year to help construct and open a new 4,000-square-foot facility for Behavioral Health Transitional Support Housing by the Erie County Health Department.
