Washington, DC – Today, Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a major $1,151,000 National Park Service award through the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Grants Program (ORLP) to the City of Toledo for upgrades and improvements at Rev. H.V. Savage Park. This award will increase public access to high-quality outdoor recreation and natural space in Toledo’s Junction neighborhood by rehabilitating the city’s oldest park, Rev. H.V. Savage Park. The City of Toledo will provide a range of new and improved outdoor recreational opportunities.
Toledo, Ohio – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) has awarded $1,782,322 under the FY24 Airport Improvement Program (AIG) to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. This award will be utilized for the acquisition of two multi-tasking snow removal units at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport (TOL). This funding, disbursed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will significantly enhance the airport's ability to maintain clear and safe airfield operations during adverse weather conditions.
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, announced the award of $10,371,073 from the US Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) to the Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority. Awarded through the FY24 Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP), the funds will assist with the construction of a 406-foot stone breakwater to bolster the safety and resiliency of the main ferry terminal serving South Bass Island, a vital hub for tourism, local residents, and businesses in Northwest Ohio.
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $110,014.28 grant award to the City of Wauseon Fire Department through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. This program is administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration. The Wauseon Fire Department plans to use these funds to update existing exhaust system infrastructure to get up to modern standards and allow for safer operations in the fire house, and additionally to purchase a protective gear cleaning extractor to remove carbons and hydrocarbons.
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development announced a $160,000 matching grant award to Carroll Township, Ottawa County from the USDA Rural Development Agency. This Rural Development investment will be used to construct a storage building for the Carroll Township Law Enforcement Department. The department has insufficient space needed by a modern law enforcement department. The new building will allow the Carroll Township Department to provide the 2,135 residents with enhanced service. The total cost of the project is $320,000.

This ReConnect loan is part of $714 Million in loans announced today administered by USDA across 19 states as part of their ReConnect Program. Connecting all communities across the United States to high-speed internet is central part of the President Investing in America agenda to rebuild our economy from the bottom up and middle out by rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure.
Toledo, Ohio – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced the US Department of Transportation will award $24.5 Million to Lucas, Ottawa, Wood and Sandusky counties as part of its Safe Streets and Roads for All Program (SS4A). The funding award follows a previous $400,000 award in SS4A funding received by Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, and Sandusky Counties in the first round of SS4A funding in February 2023.
