Washington, DC – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, announced that the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded over $7 Million in federal investments through its Airport Improvement Program (AIP) to support critical infrastructure upgrades and enhance safety at several regional airports in Northern Ohio.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced that the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will allocate a total of $9,420,227 in Public Housing Repair funding to the public housing authorities in Erie, Lucas, and Sandusky Counties. This significant investment will support essential capital improvements to ensure safe, modern, and energy-efficient public housing across Northwest Ohio.

Toledo, Ohio – On Friday, December 16 Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), hosted a reception at the National Museum of the Great Lakes to honor winners and other outstanding submission for the 9th District Congressional App Challenge.  Twenty applications from five schools in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District competed this year including students from: Bryan Middle School, Sandusky High School, The Bounty Collegium, Sylvania Northview High School and Sylvania Southview High School. Washington, DC – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee applauded the bipartisan passage of the Social Security Fairness Act of 2023 in the House of Representatives by an overwhelming vote of 327 to 75 on Tuesday, November 12. This legislation eliminates the harmful Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), and the Government Pensions Offset (GPO), which reduces or eliminates earned Social Security benefits for public servants, including police officers, firefighters, educators and others.
